The Public Health Research Center (PHRC) at NYU Abu Dhabi is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate in Genetic Epidemiology for the UAE Healthy Future Study: a large cohort study aimed at recruiting 20,000 Emirati National adults to study health outcomes related to cardiovascular disease, diabetes and obesity. The successful candidate will have grounding in epidemiology, human population genetics and statistics and will be working with large genomic datasets with phenotypes related to cardiometabolic traits. The successful candidate will work in a highly-multidisciplinary research environment consisting of several epidemiologists, researchers and bioinformaticians and will benefit from the support of established Core Bioinformatics and Sequencing Platforms and High-Performance Computing facilities. Position duties also include performing laboratory experiments, statistical genetic analyses, reviewing literature and publishing in peer-reviewed journals.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• PhD degree in human genetics, biostatistics or in a related quantitative/computational discipline
• Prior research publications on genetic and/or epidemiology of complex traits
• Experience with statistics and HPC environments

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Lab experience in molecular/cell biology and genomics
• Experience with GWAS and WGS data analysis
